ASCA Stock and Ranch Trials June 6th and 7th

Well, Everyone had a great time at the Betty Williams Cattle clinic and we followed it up with and even more enjoyable time at the Stock Trial that followed. The ASF of was very pleased to have Betty Williams come up and share with us some of her wisdom on Cattle, on the Friday and Saturday. Following that we had a trial involving Sheep and Ducks. On Sunday morning the club started the day off with Canada's First ASCA ranch Trial.

Joan elected to ride a horse for the trial and she was also successful in earning her Ranch Title. Many of the members who attended the trial were successful in either earning legs towards their titles or earned their titles outright. With out the hard work of Jackie, Joan, and Cathy's hard work this trial would not have happened so a big thank you them. Also to be thanked are the Judges Lorri Middleton, and Marti Parish. And finally Big thanks to Betty William for an informative clinic.

HIC and Fun Match May 22nd and 23rd

The Crowd with the judges behind

This was the first and hopefully not the last of the Herding Instinct Test (HIC) and Fun Matches that the ASF of A has hosted. The event generated quite a nice turn out, raising money for the clubs' educational library of DVD's and providing many all breed handlers an opportunity to work their dogs on stock. The event was held out at Louanne Twa's Phantomridge Ranch, she gracious enough to both evaluate the dogs for their HIC's and judge the fun match as well. The was a good trun out with spectators as well.

Members were fairly successful in this event with Carolynn shining with Junior. Discovering that working sheep is not only fun but maybe even more when your handler isn't ready for you to advance and get in there. All in all, it was a great weekend it was especially nice to see the different breeds and watch how ther work their stock differently.
